The Art of Resilience
In times of need, when you believe your resilience is being tested, don’t give up. We all have those days that don’t make it to Instagram posts and highlights. We’ve all had cup noodles in bed, drowned our sorrows in a bottle of wine or doom-scrolled, or stayed up until 4 am watching Netflix to escape the hurt.
In such a magical land, all one needs is resilience, perseverance, and hard work to compete against the crème de la crème. It may not happen in a day, and you may not become an overnight film star, but good karma comes back and rewards you. It’s like a bouncy ball: no matter how much pressure it faces to go down, it’s going to jump high with the same pressure.
If you take away anything from this post, let it be this: escaping with baggage still means carrying the weight of that baggage over your shoulder, wherever you go. The only way to feel light is to make a conscious choice to interject, put that bag down, open it, and say, “I’m ready to look, process, and keep things that will help me grow, and let go of what doesn’t serve me anymore.” Processing is the fastest way to feel light and like yourself again. Sometimes, it may take just a few minutes, contrary to staying up all those nights watching Netflix.
In times of perseverance, when the tunnel looks dark and you cannot see the shining light, find your support system and hold on tight to them. Know that you are loved simply because you exist. Your energy and presence are to be celebrated, and your worth is not related to your work, success, achievements, or losses. When you are held in the truest sense, it acts as armour when you walk through that dark tunnel. If you don’t have a support system, give yourself that tight hug, indulge in a tub of ice cream, scream it out, cry it out, write it out, and when you go to bed, say out loud, “Tomorrow is a new day, a new chance at life. I’m going to try again.”
Trust me, it will all make sense when you look back and connect the dots, but until then, you have to trust that a beautiful story is being written. You are light, you are a manifestation of the creator, you are the result of the prayers of your caretakers and birth givers. Do you really believe you don’t hold magic within you? All that you are is pure magic. One of the biggest tricks the universe plays on us is placing a treasure, a special magic within you, then letting you loose on a journey to find that magic within yourself.
Thank you, reader, if you have made it this far. If nobody has told you today, let me tell you: you are amazing, I believe in you, and I love you!
